Once the main drag of New Orleans, Bourbon Street stretches across the length of the French Quarter. Known as the epicenter of the party, Bourbon Street has been entertaining New Orleans guests and residents since the early 1700s. Visitors flock to Upper Bourbon Street, especially during celebrations such as Mardi Gras, for famous taverns, bars and watering holes. French Quarter

Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport
The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport began as Moisant Field, named after John Bevins Moisant, a pioneer in the aviation industry. It was used as a Air Base until 1945, at the end of World War II. This 1,360-acre airport offered commercial flights beginning in 1946, on its four runways. By 1960, the airport added a terminal, two concourses and changed the named to New Orleans International Airport. In 2001, the airport was renamed to honor the native-born musician, Louis Armstrong's, 100th birthday.
When Hurricane Katrina hit the gulf coast in 2005, the airport provided relief and shelter to more than 30,000 people. The airport serves as the main airport for New Orleans, on its several commercial airlines. Saint Louis Cathedral
Keeping watch over Jackson Square, the St. Louis Cathedral is an icon of New Orleans and the French Quarter. Tulane University
Southern Louisiana students in the New Orleans area, have plenty of choices. Tulane University of Louisiana, was established in 1834 as the Medical College of Louisiana. At the time is was established it was the second medical college in southern United States. By 1847, it became the University of Louisiana. In 1884, the university was renamed to its current name, after the establishment of the Tulane Educational Fund, through private donations by Paul Tulane. It became a private university, reverting from a public one, the only university in the country to do so.
More than 13,000 students attend TU in pursuit of undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from the university's ten schools. All students are enrolled in the Newcomb-Tulane College, in addition to the school for their declared major. Architecture, Law, Business, Medicine, Public Health and Science and Engineering are a few of the schools located on campus. The students compete in the Conference USA athletic conference in the NCAA's Division 1. Cheer on the Tulane Green Wave during a football game in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome for a great day on campus. University of New Orleans
There's more to New Orleans than Mardi Gras. New Orleans is home to the University of New Orleans, Tulane University, Xavier University of Louisiana, Loyola University New Orleans and many additional institutions of higher learning. The University of New Orleans, was established as Louisiana State University in New Orleans, in 1958, along the shores of Lake Pontchartrain. It became included in the University of Louisiana System in 2011.
In addition to the lakefront campus, there are three additional campus locations in the New Orleans area: the Research and Technology Park, next to the main campus, East Campus and the Jefferson Center. UNO offers more than sixty undergraduate programs and more than forty graduate programs for its more than 10,000 students. Check out the main campus and cheer on the Privateers, as they compete in baseball, basketball, golf, cross country, tennis and volleyball matches, in NCAA's Division 1.
