Visiting Northern Louisiana
Louisiana offers visitors a wide range of unique and adventurous experiences. In the northern region of Louisiana, this idea will be as evident as ever thanks in part to a selection of premier cities, can’t-miss attractions, and pleasant locals. Plan your visit to northern Louisiana for the winter, spring, or early summer seasons and experience it all for yourself.
You’re sure to find full days of fun when you visit Delhi. Found in the northeastern section of the state, Delhi is easily accessed from Interstate 20, and only minutes east of Monroe. Visits to Delhi typically yield tours of the Downtown Delhi Historic District, and hikes through Poverty Point State Park.
Once you make your way into Monroe, you’ll discover some of the region’s premier sites. The Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum is a must for families, and the Chennault Park Golf Course will offer challenges for golfers at all skill levels. The Monroe Civic Center should be your main destination on February 18th and 19th when you can see the Monroe Home Expo. The drive in from nearby West Monroe should be quick.
Any visit to northern Louisiana should certainly include an extended stay in Shreveport. Vibrant, eclectic, and historic, Shreveport will yield exceptional experiences for all members of your group. Be sure to check out the Festival Plaza, tour the campus at Louisiana State University-Shreveport, and book a tee time at the very impressive Querbes Park Golf Course.
On December 11th be sure you visit the Century Link Center in Bossier City for an evening of your favorite Mary J. Blige hits. She, along with singer Maxwell, are touring the globe as part of their King and Queen of Hearts World Tour. Their show starts at 7 p.m., and Bossier City is found just across the Red River from Shreveport.
One of early-2017’s most anticipated live concert events will be in Shreveport. Visit The Strand Theatre on March 18th for your chance to see The Black Jacket Symphony perform live on stage at 8 p.m.
