Visiting Northern Louisiana
Experience authentic southern hospitality on your trip through northern Louisiana. From Shreveport to Delhi, or Winnfield to Bastrop, you’ll find an array of fun, interesting – and even quirky – events, festivals, and attractions this spring and into the summer. Don’t miss out on a tour through the Downtown Delhi Historic District on your visit into Delhi. The family will enjoy an afternoon at the Germantown Colonial Museum in Minden, or the Biedenharn Museum and Gardens in Monroe. No matter where you find yourself in northern Louisiana, you and the family are sure to make incredible memories.
Be sure to make Shreveport a destination on your visit. Whether you fly in to the Shreveport Regional Airport or drive in from Mansfield, check out the Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium. Later in the summer, plan on attending the festivities at the 26th Annual Let the Good Times Roll Festival.
Scheduled for June 15th through 17th, the Let the Good Times Roll Festivals allows you to enjoy live entertainment from acts like Keith Frank & Soileau Zydeco Band, Larry “The Voice” Ellis & Soul Experience, and much more at the Let the Good Times Roll Festival in beautiful Shreveport.
May 23rd – 26th at Festival Plaza, enjoy a Shreveport favorite: the 30th Annual Madbug Madness celebration. Enjoy this massive crawfish boil with your whole family. Live entertainment, kid zones, and plenty of mouth-watering crawfish.
East of Shreveport along I-20 you’ll find Monroe. Home to the Northeast Louisiana Children’s Museum, plan a visit to Monroe on February 9th and head to the W. L. Howard Theatre at the Monroe Civic Center for A John Williams Spectacular. Let the Monroe Symphony Orchestra treat your senses to the music of John Williams – travel in from West Monroe or Winnsboro.
Before you depart Monroe, don’t miss out on exciting college baseball action – you’re in the heart of northern Louisiana NCAA sports. You’ll want to head to Warhawk Field, home stadium of the ULM Warhawks. Enjoy all the homeruns, strikeouts, and double plays on March 22nd, when the Warhawks battle the Troy Trojans. If you visit later in the summer, don’t miss an in-state rivalry match up when the University of Louisiana-Lafayette visit Warhawk Stadium May 16th – 18th.
