During spring, fans from all over the Bayou State enjoy the excitement of college baseball, when the Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team battle opponents at M.L. Tigue Moore Field. And in the fall, be sure to join more than 31,000 fans as they pack Cajun Field, home of the UL Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns football team.
The University of Louisiana System also features McNeese State University – founded in 1939 as Lake Charles Junior College. A public institution, McNeese State is set in Lake Charles, a fine city just minutes from Sulphur.
Offering 83 different degree programs, McNeese State features a diverse student body on its 121-acre campus. Visit the F. G. Bulber Auditorium for the Banners Art & Culture Series – enjoy local and nationally touring musical guests.
Athletically, the McNeese State Cowboys compete in the Southland Conference. The McNeese State Cowboys play all home games at Cowboy Stadium, Cowboy Diamond, Cowgirl Diamond, and the Burton Coliseum.
